You can check-in to your lodge room beginning at 4:00 pm; check-out is at 11:00 am. Cabin check-in is at 4:00 pm; check-out time for cabins is 10:00 am. ## What online payment methods are accepted? We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, JCB and Diners Club. ## How far in advance can I make lodging reservations? We take reservations up to 12 months in advance of arrival. ## Is there an extra cost for children or extra room occupants? - All rates are stated in US dollars and are based on double occupancy in a standard double room, unless otherwise stated. - Each additional adult in a room is $12.00 plus taxes, per person, per night. - Children under 17 years of age stay for free with at least one paid adult. ## What taxes and fees are there? Our current tax rate is 7.25% sales tax and a 6% bed tax and a 3% beautification fee. ## What is the Beautification Fee? In partnership with Ohio Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Hotel and Resort Management, Inc. will assess a three percent beautification fee on all purchases at the lodge. The monies collected are designated to be used for the continual improvement of the overall lodge and cabin accommodations, and recreation amenities only. ## Are there ADA Compliant rooms at Deer Creek? Deer Creek Lodge offers 8 accessible lodge rooms (all with roll-in showers) and 3 accessible cabins. ## Are there additional charges? - Room rates are based on double occupancy. - Children under 17 years of age stay free in the same room with parents or guardians. - Each additional adult in a room is $12.00 plus taxes, per person, per night. - Rollaway beds are available for an additional charge of $15.00 plus taxes, per night for lodge rooms only. - Pack and Plays are available at no additional charge. ## Is a deposit required? All reservations require an advance deposit payable by check, money order, or major credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, JCB and Diners Club. The credit card is charged the deposit amount at the time of booking. ## Are pets permitted? Deer Creek has a select number of cabins that are designated “[pet friendly](/cabins/pet-friendly-cabin).” Pets are not permitted in any lodge rooms or cabins not designated as “pet friendly.” All assistance dogs for visually or hearing impaired or orthopedically challenged individuals are permitted in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991. ## Smoking Policy Please note that our lodges and cabins, in accordance with state law, provide a smoke-free environment for all guests. We ask that this non-smoking policy be observed inside all guestrooms, cabins and public areas, including restaurants. Smoking is only permitted 30 feet away from any building. Smoking is prohibited on all room and cabin decks, patios, balconies, and porches. ## What is the minimum age for reserving a room? The minimum age for reserving and/or checking in to any of our accommodations is 21 years old. A valid government-issued identification is required. ## How do I modify or cancel a reservation? Room and cabin reservations may be modified or canceled up to 3 days (72 hours) prior to your arrival; after that date, the deposit is non-refundable. Columbus, OH is the nearest major city/airport. Driving time is approximately 42 minutes (32 miles). N39°37’19.0914”, W83°14’10.8168” ## Do you offer wireless internet access? We do offer high-speed wireless Internet within the lodge. ## Is there cell phone service? Cell phone service is available for most providers; however, we can’t guarantee the signal strength. ## What is your liquor policy? Under Ohio law, alcohol is prohibited in all public areas of every state park, including lakes, campgrounds, beaches, and trails. The only exceptions are Lodge restaurants and lounges. Each lodge is the liquor permit holder and, in accordance with Ohio law, alcohol purchased off premises is strictly prohibited. The golf course pro shop offers limited beverage service. The legal age for possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages, regardless of family status, is 21 years of age. A valid government-issued identification is required to possess, purchase, share in the cost of, or consume any alcoholic beverages at any time. ## Is there an option to dine in public areas? Public areas (i.e. anywhere outside of your room or cabin) are for the enjoyment of all guests. All food must be purchased through the lodge and consumed only in the dining room, lounge or private meeting room. Therefore, no food is to be consumed in the public areas. Private meeting rooms are available for larger gatherings. ## What kind of weather can I expect? Winter days are chilly with temperatures ranging from 15° to 30°F. Evenings are much colder, staying in the single digits and teens, but rarely ever dropping below 0°F. The early spring months are similar to winter, with the same likelihood of storms. The late spring temperatures rise to the 70s during the day and evening temperatures drop to approximately 30° to 45°F. We recommend you pack warmly for both seasons, although lighter gear will suffice for late spring. The summer months bring long hot days averaging 85°F, which is ideal weather to experience the many activities at Deer Creek. Enjoy a summer evening stroll through the park or swimming under the stars, with night temperatures in the 60s. Fall brings a burst of brilliant color and the early months are comfortably crisp, with daytime temperatures ranging from 60° to 70°F and evenings in the 50s. ## Is Deer Creek State Park and Deer Creek Lodge open year-round? Both the park and lodge are open every day of the year; however, some areas like golf course, beach and outdoor pool are open seasonally. Peak season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. ## Is there a fee to enter the park? There are no park entrance fees at Deer Creek State Park. ## Working in a state park sounds like fun.
